I have always admired the people of Bali, particularly from the town of Ubud for being able to put up luxurious resorts that exude peace and serenity amidst the lush rice fields. For me, Ubud Bali besides Batanes is the ultimate “get away from it all” destination. So I was surprised

Home for the Holidays!

I suppose this would be my longest post so far. So many of us rush home to our local provinces for the holidays. But, for me and my family, it was the other way around.

Before we left Manila, I already researched what restaurants to try in Seoul. Most restaurants I wanted to try were all in the Myeongdong area which was perfect since our hotel is situated in Myeongdong.

After we left Nami Island, we went looking for the Gapyeong Tour Bus that will take us to Petite France. The bus stop is just right outside the 7-11 store, a short walking distance from the Ferry Wharf.

A trip to South Korea is never complete without visiting Nami Island. Nami Island is a tiny half-moon shaped island located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. It was formed in 1944 with the flooding of the land caused by the construction of the Chyeongpyeong Dam was built.

My husband and I were looking for Bukchon Traditional Village when I saw Cath’s Cafe. I didn’t think twice and immediately went in. If the prints look familiar to you, it is because they are by Cath Kidston.

The charming Insadong neighborhood represents the focal point of Korean traditional culture and crafts.    The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district with modern galleries and tea shops. You can’t go to Insadong and not have tea at a traditional tea shop.

Korean street food is part of the adventure when travelling in Korea. There’s no shortage of tasty street food treats to taste. I can eat them everyday. Despite having a free breakfast from the hotel, I looked forward waking up each morning to look for this stall.

I booked a ski trip for our first day in Korea. I made arrangements via email with a Korean travel agency I found online a week before our flight.  Most ski resorts in Korea closes in mid March. We were lucky to have two ski resorts that were still open on the week that we were there.

As mentioned in my previous post, this hotel came highly recommended by a coworker because of its location. If shopping is one of your main objectives, then I strongly recommend staying in Myeongdong (one of the 4 shopping streets in Seoul.) There are many hotels in Myeongdong at different price ranges.
