Let me tell you about my niece’s 7th birthday party.
Her birthday falls in August which is a rainy season. I always feel bad for her because she doesn’t get much space for her party games. The roof of the garage where we always hold her birthday only covers half of the driveway. Even if we put up tent, it still doesn’t cover.
Being the party planner of my family, each year, she’d ask me what her theme would be. So last August, I thought I’d do a floral/ Cath Kidston party. I ordered the invitations from Etsy.com. It was so easy. I just sent an email to the seller, provided her all the details of the event and paid through paypal. She sent me a lay-out of the invitation via email, then I checked it for any revisions. Once everything is ok with you, the seller will email you the final copy. You can just print the invites yourself.
I ordered some cupcakes and sugar cookies from Ark Cakes (too bad they closed the shop recently. Katrina, the baker/owner moved to Singapore as a cake designer).
I also bought floral headpieces for her and her guests. For her party giveaways, I bought pens, pencils, pencil cases and loot bags filled with candies.
I asked my sister-in-law to order the cake from our hometown. We showed the baker the design of the cake we wanted. It turned out okay, not the best, but it was better than we’d hoped for.
I was happy that everything turned out well. It rained a little but that did not dampen the little girl’s happiness.
